A family fun day held in the grounds of the Kingaroy & District Vintage Machinery Club (KDVMC)\u00a0has been hailed “a resounding success”.<\/p>\n

Club vice-president Matt Lonsdale said the event was put together by KDVMC members in partnership with the SEQ Tractor Pullers.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It featured a large display of trucks as well as live action in the club’s display area, including tractor and truck pulls.<\/p>\n

There was no prizes on offer, just lots of fun.<\/p>\n

Matt said the day was a fundraiser for the club.<\/p>\n

The KDVMC is now making plans for its big annual show, which will be held at its grounds near Kingaroy Airport on September 21-22.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The theme will be “100 Years Of John Deere Tractors” so a big roll-up of classic machinery is expected to come along.<\/p>\n

We’re used to seeing tractors in the tractor pull, but trucks? The World War II-era Ford Blitz buggy, top, made light work of the weighted sled, as did the Kingaroy Quarry Supplies’ Western Star (“Rock Star”); the Mazda Bravo “Bundy Bandit” ute kicked up a lot of dust but also successfully made it to the end of the track<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
