Woolworths has invited South Burnett primary schools, childcare centres and kindies to apply for $1000 grants to encourage children to\u00a0 get involved in outdoor learning projects.<\/p>\n

Woolworths Junior Landcare Grants support projects which focus on sustainable food production, improving waste management or enhancing native habitats.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Woolworths Junior Landcare Grants program is all about supporting fun and engaging learning experiences that can help younger generations connect with natural environments,” State manager Danny Baldwin said.<\/p>\n

Since 2018, the Woolworths Junior Landcare Grants program has provided more than $5 million in grants to almost 5000 primary schools and early learning centres across Australia.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing outdoors in the natural environment has positive benefits for the mental health and wellbeing of children,” Landcare CEO Dr Shane Norrish said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe partnership between Woolworths and Landcare Australia has given hundreds of educators an opportunity to provide meaningful environmental education programs. <\/p>\n

“These programs offer experiences that are helping children learn how they can care for the land and be the next generation of Landcare leaders.\u201d<\/p>\n

Applications close on March 19.<\/p>\n
