The Office of the Co-ordinator-General has invited public comments on draft Terms of Reference (TOR) for the Borumba Dam pumped hydro project.<\/p>\n

Queensland Hydro must address these Terms of Reference as part of the environmental approval process for the project.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Planning and environment approvals for the project are necessary from both the Federal and State governments, however last year both agreed that an integrated Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) would be used as the assessment tool for approvals.<\/p>\n

The Office of the Co-ordinator-General is co-ordinating the EIS process.<\/p>\n

Public comments are open until Thursday, March 28.<\/p>\n

Members of the Kabi Kabi First Nation Traditional Owners native title claim group have been invited to attend a series of small-group consultation meetings in regards to the Borumba project.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pre-consultation meetings will be held in Cherbourg on February 23 followed by a small group meeting at Cherbourg Hall on February 24.<\/p>\n

The meetings are being held to understand the wider Kabi Kabi group\u2019s concerns, opinions and feelings in relation to the Borumba Project.<\/p>\n

Feedback from Kabi Kabi People will be included as part of an Indigenous Impact Assessment.<\/p>\n
