The STEC Job Board is designed to help South Burnett students and employers connect more efficiently<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A new service designed to help South Burnett students find their first job is about to be launched online.<\/p>\n

The Students To Employment Connections (STEC) Job Board will allow employers to advertise student jobs for free, and allow students to find employment opportunities suited to their abilities.<\/p>\n

The job board has come about through the joint efforts of representatives from schools and local businesses, who have been working on the concept over the past 12 months.<\/p>\n

It was unveiled to employers at Tuesday night’s Kingaroy of Chamber and Commerce and Industry meet’n’greet in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

The new jobs board will be operated through the Employment Matters website, and will be mirrored on southburnett.com.au<\/strong><\/p>\n

“This community initiative answers the needs of students to access a centralised student job board,” project leader Sheena Lindholm said.<\/p>\n

She said the group found that an easy way to recruit students for jobs was a problem businesses needed a solution for, and the group was thrilled when Employment Matters agreed to provide the job board service.<\/p>\n

“We would like to ask all student employers with job vacancies to register their vacancy on the STEC Job Board<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n

“This will help both students and employers to find their match.”<\/p>\n

The STEC group has been meeting once a month during school terms to share opportunities for students to learn work skills and seek work opportunities, as well as expose students to local industries. <\/strong><\/p>\n

“This project is a testament to the power of people who share needs, working together to find solutions,” Sheena said.<\/p>\n

The STEC initiative is being auspiced by BIEDO and is expected to be fully functional next week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
