Potential users of the new Toowoomba Hospital have been invited to share their vision for the look and feel of the hospital and its surrounds.<\/p>\n

The $1.3 billion hospital will be built on the Baillie Henderson campus and will deliver new and expanded health care services to Toowoomba and the surrounding region\u2019s growing population.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Darling Downs Health chief executive Annette Scott said the state-of-the-art hospital would have an extra 118 overnight beds as well as an increase in Emergency Department treatment spaces and operating theatres.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will be providing care under a dual campus model, meaning the CBD hospital facilities in Pechey Street will remain operational,” Ms Scott said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe consultation completed in previous years helped us get to where we are now \u2013 and as the project enters the detailed design stage, we\u2019re now focussing on gathering feedback to inform the look and feel of the hospital and its surrounding environment.<\/p>\n

“We want everyone to feel welcomed, safe and connected when they walk within and around the new Toowoomba Hospital, and we value the input of our community while we work on this phase of the design process.”<\/p>\n

An online survey<\/a> is now open, which will close on February 22.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cHearing from people with real-life examples and experience is crucial in the collaborative design of a hospital that will serve our community for many years,” Ms Scott said.<\/p>\n

\u201cEarly construction works for the new hospital will start in the coming months with the opening of the hospital still on target for late 2027.<\/p>\n
