The showgrounds were the place to be on Saturday night in Proston if you wanted to catch up with Santa!<\/p>\n

Father Christmas arrived in style, sirens sounding, in a fire engine from the local QFES station.<\/p>\n

He was immediately swamped with children as he stepped out of the cabin and made his way to the side of the oval to hand out goodies.<\/p>\n

Proston’s annual Christmas celebration featured market stalls and live music by Natalie Fenton.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The younger children were enjoying the free slide and jumping castle, which were erected behind the grandstand.<\/p>\n

Local councillor Kathy Duff enticed some of the children into a girls versus boys tug-o-war … and just like at the Murgon carnival on Friday night, the boys won!<\/p>\n

Volunteers from local community groups were kept busy raising funds via raffles, a sausage sizzle and cake stalls while volunteers were keeping the adults refreshed at the bar.<\/p>\n

The event was organised by the Proston Show Society.<\/p>\n
