November 8, 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Federal and State governments have activated further relief measures for farmers and councils affected by bushfires in southern Queensland.<\/p>\n

Primary producers can now apply for concessional interest rate loans to help replace or repair assets that have been significantly damaged by a recognised disaster.<\/p>\n

This includes loss of significant income, to recover and return to viable operations.<\/p>\n

They can also apply for freight subsidies, to assist with the transport of livestock, fodder or water for livestock, along with building, fencing equipment or machinery to the primary producer\u2019s home property.<\/p>\n

The assistance is jointly funded through the Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements for nine council areas:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • South Burnett Regional Council<\/li>\n
  • North Burnett Regional Council<\/li>\n
  • Toowoomba Regional Council<\/li>\n
  • Western Downs Regional Council<\/li>\n
  • Southern Downs Regional Council<\/li>\n
  • Bundaberg Regional Council<\/li>\n
  • Central Highlands Regional Council<\/li>\n
  • Gladstone Regional Council<\/li>\n
  • Maranoa Regional Council<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Help is also available for 13 Queensland councils to undertake Counter Disaster Operations including firefighting and recovery operations:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    • Maranoa Regional Council<\/li>\n
    • North Burnett Regional Council<\/li>\n
    • Scenic Rim Regional Council<\/li>\n
    • Sunshine Coast Regional Council<\/li>\n
    • Toowoomba Regional Council<\/li>\n
    • Western Downs Regional Council<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
