Do you remember your first day of kindy? Were you scared or excited?\u00a0Were you one of the thousands of children taught and nurtured at Kingaroy Kindergarten?<\/p>\n

The Kingaroy Kindy is looking for past students to join in its 35th birthday celebrations and the grand opening of its community building on October 26.<\/p>\n

It’s trying to round up as many past students, parents, committee members and staff as possible to come along for a cuppa.<\/p>\n

A kindy spoksewoman said the Family Fete Fay will be an old-fashioned fete with rides, showcasing of local groups and clubs, home-baked food, games and general family fun.<\/p>\n

Organisers are also looking for any old photographs.<\/p>\n

The kindy’s next fundraising event will be an evening of “Cards, Canap\u00e9s and Cocktails” on Saturday, August 31.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This casino night will feature poker, roulette, black jack and a money wheel with giveaway prizes, multi-draw raffles and an auction.<\/p>\n

There is a saying that everything we need to know, we learn in kindergarten.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“These Are The Things I Learned In Kindergarten”<\/p>\n

1. Share everything
\n2. Play fair
\n3. Don’t hit people
\n4. Put things back where you found them
\n5. Clean up your own mess
\n6. Don’t take things that aren’t yours
\n7. Say you’re sorry when you hurt somebody
\n8. Wash your hands before you eat
\n9. Flush
\n10. Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you
\n11. Live a balanced life – learn some and drink some and draw some and paint some and sing and dance and play and work everyday some
\n12. Take a nap every afternoon
\n13. When you go out into the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands, and stick together
\n14. Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the Stryrofoam cup: The roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that
\n15. Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup – they all die. So do we
\n16. And remember story time, the first word you learned – the biggest word of all – look.\u201d<\/p>\n
