Acting Mayor Cr Gavin Jones has thanked Queensland Fire and Emergency Services for their ongoing efforts during the recent bushfires, but urged residents to stay up-to-date about warnings.<\/p>\n

“Crews are working tirelessly on a large number of bushfires across the State, and we are extremely grateful for their commitment and dedication,” Cr Jones said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d also like to thank everyone else who has assisted and is continuing to assist, including neighbours who are helping each other.<\/p>\n

\u201cOurs is a resilient community, and it is during times of hardship that this shines through.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Cr Jones said the fires were a timely reminder to think about how extreme weather could affect lives, so residents should make a plan to stay safe and pack supplies.<\/p>\n

Cr Jones also reminded South Burnett residents that a local fire ban is in place until 11:59pm on Monday (November 6).<\/strong><\/p>\n
