The South Burnett Thrashers rugby union team has recorded back-to-back wins on the road.<\/p>\n

Following on from their defeat of the Dalby Wheatman in Round 6, they toppled the USQ Saints at home 26-21 on Saturday afternoon in Toowoomba.<\/p>\n

Club president Shane O\u2019Malley said defence won the game for the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

“They guys went really well. It was a big win and USQ are very tough at home,” Shane said.<\/p>\n

“Our defence definitely won us the game. They pressured us in the last five to 10 minutes but our guys kept them out.<\/p>\n

“We are known for our defence and it’s something that we like to take pride in.”<\/p>\n

Man of the match was Brett Turner.<\/p>\n

Also singled out for praise were Brendon Flood in the front row, Josh Turner and backrower Rob Turner.<\/p>\n

The Thrashers have a home game next weekend, hosting Roma at St Mary’s Oval in Kingaroy from 1:30pm on Saturday.<\/p>\n

“Roma has had a bit of an indifferent year so far so we are hoping that we can string three wins together in a row, and our first win this year at home,” Shane said.<\/p>\n
