Southern Queensland Country Tourism – the organisation responsible for promotion of the South Burnett – has produced a new brochure aimed at selling the area to school groups.<\/p>\n

The 12-page brochure covers key curriculum categories including heritage, agriculture, health\/nature, environment and science; as well as an in-season produce calendar and a map of the Southern Queensland Country region.<\/p>\n

SQCT CEO Mary-Clare Power said the brochure aimed to motivate teachers of Years 6-7 to choose a Southern Queensland Country experience for their next educational tour.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn a visit to Southern Queensland Country, kids can learn first-hand where food comes from, what life was like in the olden days, and about heritage trades that aren\u2019t available anywhere else. They also have the chance to experience some awe-inspiring natural attractions,” she said.<\/p>\n

Suggested school visiting sites in the South Burnett include Bethany, The Ration Shed, The South Burnett Timber Industry Museum, the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, the South Burnett Energy Centre, Maidenwell Observatory and the Bunya Mountains National Park.<\/p>\n
