Western Downs Regional Council has issued a warning about fake donation pages appearing online allegedly to assist bushfire victims.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson said GIVIT’s bushfire appeal was now in operation.<\/p>\n

“This is the preferred avenue for donations from the public,” the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

Donations can be made online here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

“There has been an influx of donations to local charities and neighbourhood centres,” the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

“Please check in with these groups before dropping off donated goods.<\/p>\n

“Please do not take donations to evacuation centres.”<\/p>\n

Multiple fire warnings remain in place across the WDRC area, several roads are closed and a total fire ban remains in place.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
