Volunteers at Sunday’s Clean Up Farms Day went to the Wooroolin Hotel in the evening for a thankyou barbecue<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

About 30 volunteers put up their hands to help clean up farms across the South Burnett on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The “Clean Up South Burnett Farms Day” was a local version of Clean Up Australia Day and was much-needed after this year’s floods.<\/p>\n

Volunteers from the Church of Christ and BlazeAid worked tirelessly cleaning up and helping out farmers on their properties.<\/p>\n

As a mark of thanks, South Burnett Regional Council provided dinner at the Wooroolin Hotel, with Mayor Wayne Kratzmann donning an apron to cook the barbecue with the assistance of CEO Ken McLoughlin.<\/p>\n

The Church of Christ volunteers have been working with farmers non-stop since the 2011 floods and are continuing to partner with Council to support those in need.<\/p>\n

Council\u2019s Manager for NRM and Parks Greg Griffiths has been working to support the Church of Christ, South Burnett CTC and BlazeAid in the work they are undertaking.<\/p>\n

Individual volunteers were provided with fuel vouchers at the barbecue to say thanks for the help they were providing and to offset a small part of their expenses.<\/p>\n

Cr Kathy Duff was presented with a pink BlazeAid T-shirt by BlazeAid co-ordinator Alison Mortenson to thank her for the work she did to bring BlazeAid to the region and her support for them in their endeavors to help farmers \u00a0(the shirts are usually black).<\/p>\n
