The 10th Heritage Waterhole Rocks rock’n’roll festival at Nanango Showgrounds broke a bunch of records at the weekend.<\/p>\n

Co-organiser Terry Mackrell said there was a record number of caravan and campervans (380), a record number of meals served up at Thursday night’s pig-on-the-spit (240) and almost 1000 people through the gate.<\/p>\n

The car show on Sunday also featured a record number of entries, as did the fashion parade.<\/p>\n

The early-bird barbecue at the Gas Guzzlers Shed on Wednesday – followed by music and dancing – was so popular the festival will be officially extended to five days next year.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thursday night was the VIP launch for the 10th event, which featured a big fireworks display.<\/p>\n

“Everyone was raving about the fireworks, which was supposed to be a total surprise,” Terry said<\/p>\n

Terry said the one-hour Gospel music show on Sunday, featuring local singer Jeff Hancox, was as popular as ever.<\/p>\n

He had received feedback from the crowd that it should be longer, which they may do next year.<\/p>\n

Overall, Terry said the festival had been “fantastic”.<\/p>\n

“It was a huge success and we are already beginning planning for next year’s event. We also have some bands lined up for next year,” he said.<\/p>\n
