“Pinking Up South Burnett” – the region’s annual fundraising campaign for the McGrath Foundation’s breast care nurses – was officially launched on Friday with a generous private donation.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy residents Barry and Leanne Krosch donated $5000 to help kickstart the campaign.<\/p>\n

The pair have been digging deep for the past few years with similar donations to support the McGrath Foundation.<\/p>\n

Local McGrath Nurse Sue Cox gratefully received the cheque in a small ceremony at Kingaroy Hospital.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sue has been working with breast cancer patients in the South Burnett for about eight years.<\/p>\n

“Pinking Up South Burnett” is organised by Cr Danita Potter and Cr Kathy Duff.<\/p>\n

The pair have encouraged businesses \u2013 and whole towns \u2013 to \u201cpink up\u201d and raise cash for the Foundation.<\/p>\n

A recent musical event, the Hazeldean Hoedown, held on a private property near Nanango has already added $1200 to the fundraising kitty. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Since its inception in 2005, the McGrath Foundation has supported more than 123,000 individuals across Australia affected by breast cancer.<\/p>\n

It now funds 200 McGrath Breast Care Nurses who provide free physical, psychological and emotional support.<\/p>\n
