An art exhibition held at Nanango’s Ringsfield House at the weekend had two major aims … to help raise much-needed funds to help the victims of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, as well as help revive the use of the historic house for functions.<\/p>\n

The Art 4 Ukraine exhibition featured works donated by a dozen local artists, including Anna Aird and Joanne Newbery.<\/p>\n

There were two opening nights, Friday and Saturday, which featured live music and wine on Ringsfield’s verandah.<\/p>\n

All the works were for sale with proceeds going to international aid agency, Caritas Australia, to support their work in Ukraine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joanne said more than $800 was collected in donations on top of the sale of artworks.<\/p>\n

Family members of Nanango man Jed Danahay – killed by Russian forces in Ukraine in September last year – attended on Friday night and loaned a Ukraine flag for the exhibition.<\/p>\n

Local councillor Jane Erkens said she hoped more art exhibitions could be held at Ringsfield in future.<\/p>\n

Art 4 Ukraine coincided with the third of the “Groovin’ In The Gardens” live music events held in the gardens at Ringsfield on Sunday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Attendees relaxed under the sun sails to listen to The Swing Beans play on the verandah of the old coach house.<\/p>\n

Many also took the opportunity to wander through Ringsfield to inspect the art exhibition.<\/p>\n

UPDATE October 27: Caritas has advised the event raised $1655, and these funds will now be applied to Ukrainian relief efforts.<\/strong><\/p>\n
