Kingaroy State High School student Jenali Bolden is shaping up to be one of Australia’s sports stars of the future.<\/p>\n

Jenali finished first in discus at the recent 2023 Queensland Little Athletics State Championships and has now been invited to attend an elite training camp on the Gold Coast next week.<\/p>\n

Seventy-six young athletes from across the nation will travel to the Gold Coast Performance Centre at Runaway Bay for the 2023 Coles Little Athletics National High-Performance Camp.<\/p>\n

Jenali’s mum Jodie said her daughter was excited to be attending the camp and was looking forward to seeing what she can learn from the many coaches and presenters.<\/p>\n

“She has been involved with the South Burnett Little Athletics club since 2017 and owes her love of the sport to the many coaches and volunteers at this club, along with her discus coach, Mick Moore at Ipswich,” Jodie said.<\/p>\n

The camp, from October 1-4, is catering for the top-performing Little Athletes born in 2009 from across Australia.<\/p>\n

They will take part in training sessions, workshops, recovery sessions, presentations and social activities.<\/p>\n

They have been selected based on their individual performances at the recent Australian Little Athletics Championships and State Championships.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Jenali is the National All Schools Champion for her age in discus and is currently ranked third in the world for her age,” Jodie said.<\/p>\n

“This is a high-performance camp, with some of Australia\u2019s leading coaches and presenters who will be sharing their extensive knowledge and experience with the athletes.<\/p>\n

“The coaches and guest presenters are organised by Olympic gold medallist Glynis Nunn-Cearns OAM who has been involved in the organisation of this camp since it started 11 years ago.<\/p>\n

“The knowledge, experience and contacts that Glynis has in athletics is unparalleled and provides athletes with the best possible exposure to a high-performance environment.”<\/p>\n

There will be current and former Australian international athletes coaching and sharing their own journeys from juniors through to international representation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The aim of the camp is to offer each athlete an opportunity to improve themselves …\u00a0 on the track, in recovery, preparation and psychology.<\/p>\n
