Staff members and visitors at South Burnett CTC’s Connections office in Murgon will be a little bit safer now, thanks to the donation of a $2000 defibrillator by the Salus Group.<\/p>\n

The automated external defibrillator (AED) will be kept on hand in case of any cardiac emergency on the premises.<\/p>\n

Salus chief executive Grant Geddes handed over the equipment to Stacey Taylor, from CTC Connections, on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n

This is the fourth AED that the Salus Group has donated to CTC. Others are located at their headquarters in Kingaroy, at Youth and Family Services in Somerset Street, Kingaroy; and at Gumnut Place in Murgon.<\/p>\n

Grant said First Aid Instruction and Services (FAIS) – part of the Salus Group – conducted regular first aid training at CTC’s complex in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

Funds raised from these sessions were put towards supporting local community groups.<\/p>\n

Over the past few years FAIS has donated AEDs to groups including Graham House in Murgon, the Murgon RSL Club, The Ration Shed in Cherbourg, Murgon Men’s Shed, South Burnett Region Timber Industry Museum in Wondai, and Kingaroy Scouts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
