The new weather radar site at Crows Nest will complement existing radar reports<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Work has begun on a new Bureau of Meteorology weather radar site near Crows Nest.<\/p>\n

BOM spokesperson Peter Stone said the new radar would enable more customers to access improved real-time rainfall and wind information.<\/p>\n

“The community, emergency services and local industry, including agriculture and tourism, will benefit from the installation of the new weather radar as it will help to make more informed decisions,” Mr Stone said.<\/p>\n

The new radar is scheduled for completion in mid-2024, subject to any unforeseen delays.<\/p>\n

BOM is also upgrading the Brisbane (Marburg), Cairns and Mackay weather radars this year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
