The second annual Careers Expo, held at the Barambah Youth Services Hub in Murgon last Friday, attracted more than 20 stalls and a has been hailed as a success.<\/p>\n

The Expo provided an opportunity for young people to explore a variety of employment opportunities.<\/p>\n

The number of stalls was higher than last year, giving students more opportunities to expand their knowledge about employment options and requirements.<\/p>\n

Highlights of the day included a live broadcast by Cherbourg Radio, presentations from stall holders and a performance by the Australian Army Band which had come along in support of a recruitment drive for the Army Reserve.<\/p>\n

Hub manager Gaye O’Sullivan said some fabulous material and activities had been provided by the stall holders.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Thank you to all the organisations that attended on the day and provided information to young people,” Gaye said.<\/p>\n

“And thank you to those that supported the day, including Darling Downs Health, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships, Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council, Gundoo Day Care Centre and Cherbourg Radio.<\/p>\n

“A fantastic day was had by everyone that attended!”<\/p>\n

Gaye said the Barambah Youth Services Hub continues to offer a range of services to support the health and wellbeing of students and young people aged 6-24.<\/p>\n
