The red carpet was rolled out at the 7th Big Screen Festival\u00a0in Nanango on Friday night for the special guest star, actor and comedian Magda Szubanski.<\/p>\n

Magda mingled with invited guests in a private function before entering the packed Nanango Cultural Centre foyer to sign autographs and pose for photographs with fans (and two living statues who added a golden touch to the evening’s entertainment).<\/p>\n

The crowd of about 200 then moved into the adjoining auditorium to watch Magda’s latest film, “Goddess”, described as a “feel good fantasy film” about a housewife who becomes a cyber sensation.<\/p>\n

The Big Screen Festival, which began on May 15, continues until Sunday afternoon with screenings of movies including Babe, The Sapphires and Return To Nim’s Island.<\/p>\n

Unlike recent years where some movies were shown in Kingaroy, this year all the movies are being screened in Nanango.<\/p>\n

Magda, who is probably best known for her roles in Fast Forward, Kath and Kim, and Babe, will be one of the Fashion on the Field judges at Saturday’s Nanango Races.<\/p>\n

The Big Screen Festival is a project of the National Film and Sound Archive.<\/p>\n
