Stanwell Corporation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with German-based energy company RWE which aims to develop two new wind farms in Queensland.<\/p>\n

One of the wind farms would be a 1100MW project<\/a><\/strong> located between Theodore and Biloela.<\/p>\n

The second project is a mooted 720MW wind farm “in early-stage development” <\/span>at at unstated location in southern Queensland.<\/span><\/p>\n

If they go ahead, the aim is for the two wind farms to be completed by 2029.<\/p>\n

The Queensland Conservation Council welcomed Wednesday’s announcement but urged a “well-managed rollout” of clean energy projects “so that First Nations people, regional communities and nature all benefit”.<\/p>\n
