The Nanango Theatre Company will be bringing a feast of drama and comedy to the South Burnett next week.<\/p>\n

Next Friday, Saturday and Sunday the NTC will be presenting their 2nd annual Heritage NananGO PLAYfest at the Nanango Cultural Centre, and tickets are already being snapped up.<\/p>\n

This year PLAYfest will be offering a cavalcade of short dramas and comedies that range from suspenseful to side-splitting.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The event is part of the South-East Queensland Drama Festival Circuit, with each production competing for a slice of the $3000 in prize monies on offer.<\/p>\n

“We have 17 entries this year, and 11 of those were written by Australian authors within the last 12 months,” NTC spokesperson Jon Fearnley said.<\/p>\n

“We believe this is the richest competition for short plays in Australia, and it is a stimulus for people to write and perform.<\/p>\n

“Many local groups are taking part in the festival, but we also have many external groups showing their talents as well.”<\/p>\n

A feature that makes PLAYfest special is that all plays must run for no longer than 50 minutes.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This allows audiences to see sessions of three or four plays back-to-back over the festival’s three days.<\/p>\n

The event will kick off at 7:00pm on Friday, September 1, with “Tiaras At The Palace”, “Deep” and “Last Tango In Little Grimley”.<\/p>\n

This will be followed at 9:00am on Saturday, September 2, with a morning session featuring “Do It For The Boys”, “Murder At Rosemere”, “The Man In The Bowler Hat” and “Hoods”.<\/p>\n

The 2:00pm session will showcase “Anonymous”, “Netty’s Night Out” and “The Donahue Sisters”.<\/p>\n

A third session at 7:00pm will feature “Rue”, “Good News Bad News”, “I Do You Die” and “Love Me (Not)”.<\/p>\n

Then on Sunday, the festival will conclude with a final session at 9:00am with performances of “Roof House”, “In The Blood” and “Birthday Surprise” before the judges announce this year’s winners at about 12:30pm.<\/p>\n

Tickets to PLAYfest can be purchased online through Trybooking.com<\/b><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tickets are $10 per session or $40 for a season ticket covering all five sessions.<\/p>\n

The NTC is also offering a family season ticket allowing two adults and up to three children to see all 17 performances for $100.<\/p>\n
