Murgon detectives have charged a 29-year-old Gympie man and a 21-year-old Proston man after a year-long drug operation across the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

A police spokesperson said Operation DEBUG was launched last December to target the unlawful supply of dangerous drugs in the region.<\/p>\n

It will be alleged the Gympie man supplied small quantities of methylamphetamine to 123 people in exchange for more than $76,000 between February 2022 and June this year.<\/p>\n

He has been charged with 136 offences including drug trafficking, supply and receiving proceeds of trafficking dangerous drugs.<\/p>\n

He is due to appear in Gympie Magistrates Court on August 7.<\/p>\n

Police will allege the Proston man supplied small quantities of methylamphetamine to 15 people in exchange for more than $16,000 between August 2022 and May this year.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He has been charged with 43 offences including trafficking, supply, receiving proceeds of trafficking and possessing things used in the commission of a crime.<\/p>\n

He is due to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on Thursday (August 3).<\/p>\n

The spokesperson said Operation DEBUG had resulted in police charging 62 people with 720 offences, including five charged with drug trafficking with drug seizures to the value of $96,757.<\/p>\n

Detective Sergeant Martin Hunter said the operation highlighted the Queensland Police Service\u2019s commitment to removing dangerous drugs from rural and regional communities.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have seen time and time again the harm these illicit substances cause; disrupting this alleged criminal activity is a priority in order to keep our communities safe,\u201d Det Sgt Hunter said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you know something in relation to this sort of criminal activity, it is vital information is provided to police, so we can investigate and put offenders before the court.\u201d<\/p>\n

Police appeal to anyone with information to come forward.<\/p>\n
