Expressions of interest are now open for the Federal Government\u2019s 2023-24 Volunteer Grants program.<\/p>\n

Grants of between $1000 and $5000 are available to eligible not-for-profit community organisations in every Federal electorate.<\/p>\n

Eligible groups can use the grants to:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Purchase portable, tangible, small equipment items to help their volunteers;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n
    • Contribute to the reimbursement of fuel costs for volunteers;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        \n
      • Promote volunteering opportunities;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
          \n
        • Contribute to the reimbursement of transport costs incurred by volunteers with disability; and<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
            \n
          • Contribute to the cost of training courses and\/or undertake background screening checks for their volunteers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            The objectives of Volunteer Grants are to:<\/strong><\/p>\n

              \n
            • Help community organisations to support the efforts of Australia\u2019s volunteers;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                \n
              • Help community organisations to support the inclusion of vulnerable people through volunteering; and<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                  \n
                • Encourage, support, and increase participation in volunteering.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  Expressions of interest should be submitted to the relevant Federal MP:<\/p>\n

                  Three Federal electorates cross the South Burnett:<\/strong><\/p>\n

                    \n
                  • In\u00a0Maranoa<\/strong>, expressions of interest should be submitted to the electorate office of David Littleproud,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                      \n
                    • In\u00a0Flynn<\/strong>, the electorate office of Colin Boyce should be contacted,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                        \n
                      • In\u00a0Wide Bay<\/strong>, contact the electorate office of Llew O\u2019Brien.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
