July 14, 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n The body of a woman was found in a front bedroom after a devastating house fire at Woolooga on Thursday night.<\/p>\n Emergency services were called to the blaze, in Booker Street, just before midnight.<\/p>\n Firefighters found the building well engulfed in flames when they arrived.<\/p>\n A QFES spokesperson said nine crews – a mix of urban and rural firefighters – attended the incident.<\/p>\n QAS paramedics were also on standby.<\/p>\n Once the fire was extinguished, a body – believed to be that of a woman aged in her 50s – was located.<\/p>\n A police spokesperson said investigations were under way to confirm her identity.<\/strong><\/p>\n She was the only occupant of the building.<\/p>\n In the meantime, a crime scene has been declared at the site as a matter of routine after a fatal incident.<\/p>\n Fire crews left the scene about 3:40am.<\/p>\n Police and QFES investigators returned on Friday morning to try to determine a cause for the blaze.<\/p>\n Police will also prepare a report for the Coroner.<\/p>\n [UPDATED]<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The body of a woman was found in a front bedroom after a devastating house fire at Woolooga on Thursday night.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":20,"featured_media":278029,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[3,24],"tags":[90,716],"yoast_head":"\n
