All eyes will be on Wondai Sportsground on Saturday when the Wolves host a game from the 2023 QRL competition.<\/p>\n

The Round 18 Hostplus Cup game will feature a clash between third placegetters Wynnum-Manly Seagulls and 12th placed Norths Devils at 2:00pm.<\/p>\n

Entry is $5 for adults and children are free.<\/p>\n

Despite their current position on the ladder, the 2021 and 2022 premiers Norths can’t be written off.<\/strong><\/p>\n

They defeated ladder leaders Souths Logan Magpies just last month, and are coming off a bye.<\/p>\n

There could also be pride at stake …<\/p>\n

The two teams were involved in last month’s controversy when the Brisbane Broncos dumped the Devils as a feeder club after Norths signed a four-year deal from 2024 with the Dolphins.<\/p>\n

Norths had been affiliated with the Broncos for 16 years.<\/p>\n

The Broncos immediately revoked any of their players’ ties with Norths, transferring their Queensland Cup registrations mid-season to Wynnum-Manly and Souths Logan.<\/p>\n

Despite losing key players, Norths went on to down Redcliffe and then Souths Logan in back-to-back wins before tumbling to the Tweed Seagulls in Round 16.<\/p>\n

Wolves’ fans would have been celebrating after last weekend’s big day of footy action at Cherbourg (see results, below).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Both their men’s and women’s teams notched up wins before the big crowds which had gathered for the International Legends of League game later in the day.<\/p>\n

This weekend, as well as the Hostplus game, the Wolves will be hosting another A Grade women’s game as well as U14s, U15s and U16s games.<\/p>\n

The four A Grade men’s teams are getting a breather this week and next.<\/p>\n

They will next be in action at Cherbourg\u00a0 on July 30.<\/p>\n
