July 7, 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n

RES – the company developing the proposed Tarong West Wind Farm at Ironpot – will be holding two more public information sessions next week.<\/p>\n

On Monday (July 10), company representatives will be at the Ironpot Farmers Hall from 10:00am-1:00pm; and at Kumbia Memorial Hall from 4:00pm-7:00pm.<\/p>\n

The updates follow more technical and environmental assessments completed after previous feedback collected from the community.<\/p>\n

The amended project details will be explained at the two sessions.<\/strong><\/p>\n

RES plans to lodge planning, environment and development applications soon with both the State and Federal governments.<\/p>\n

Tarong West (formerly known as Iron Leaf) will consist of 128 wind turbines located across several grazing properties about 8km north-west of Kumbia.<\/p>\n

The State Government-owned Stanwell Corporation will become the eventual owner if the project gets the green light, making it one of the largest publicly owned wind farm projects in Australia.<\/p>\n
