One Queenslander will take home the title of “The Ultimate Queenslander” and the prize package as part of Queensland Week.<\/p>\n

Premier Campbell Newman said today The Ultimate Queenslander competition was being run to find “real people with the Queensland spirit”.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou might be patriotic about wearing maroon with pride, be known for baking a great pineapple cake, have written a Queensland song, or love collecting Queensland memorabilia,\u201d Mr Newman said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy entering your photo or video, you\u2019ll go into the draw for a fantastic holiday prize package to one of Queensland\u2019s own holiday destinations, Hayman Island.\u201d<\/p>\n

The lucky winner and three friends will spend two nights on Hayman Island and get the chance to meet Queensland\u2019s favourite cricketer, Matthew Hayden.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been fantastic growing up in Australia\u2019s lifestyle state Queensland, with the sun, the surf and the fabulous people, all of which have provided great support to me both during and after my playing career,\u201d Mr Hayden said<\/p>\n

\u201cIt feels good to give back and support the Queensland Government\u2019s initiative to find Queensland\u2019s Ultimate Queenslander and I look forward to spending time on what I consider to be one of the most beautiful locations, Hayman Island.\u201d<\/p>\n

Entries are now open and will close on Monday, June 10.<\/p>\n

A shortlist of entries will be made available for public voting for one week, with The Ultimate Queenslander announced on Wednesday, June 19.<\/p>\n
