Police are appealing for public assistance to find two women who have gone missing near Nanango.<\/p>\n

Michelle Lyn Melbourne, 54, and Nikita May Bennett, 36, were last seen leaving an address on Nanango-Tarong Road around 11:00am on Friday (June 23).<\/p>\n

Investigations suggest the pair left to go prospecting at 7 Mile Diggings on Old Esk North Road at Nanango.<\/p>\n

They were reported missing after they failed to return home last night.<\/p>\n

Police and family hold concerns for their welfare due to the difficult terrain and the discovery of personal items, believed to belong to the pair, located in the area.<\/p>\n

The women\u2019s vehicle, a white Ford Falcon utility was located at 7 Mile Diggings locked and secure with mobile phones inside.<\/p>\n

A search and rescue began in the area on Saturday morning, with SES assisting.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Michelle is described as Aboriginal, about 155cm tall, with a heavy build, brown eyes and long brown hair.<\/p>\n

She was last seen wearing a yellow jumper, blue jeans and steelcap boots.<\/p>\n

Nikita is described as Caucasian, about 165cm tall, with proportionate build, brown eyes and blonde hair with pink and purple streaks.<\/p>\n

She was last seen wearing a checked shirt and blue jeans.<\/p>\n
