Kingaroy Police are urging drivers to ensure their vehicles are properly registered and their drivers licence is current.<\/p>\n

\u201cRecently we\u2019ve seen an increase in unregistered vehicle offences and on many occasions this has led to the vehicle being uninsured, which is another offence and possible fine,\u201d Officer-in-Charge of the Gympie District Traffic Branch Sergeant Peter Webster said.<\/p>\n

“It is the responsibility of the operator of a vehicle to ensure that the vehicle they are using is properly registered.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you are driving an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle it can amount to around $800 in traffic infringement notices.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have also seen a spike in the number of unlicensed driving offences.<\/p>\n

“In a number of cases the offending motorists were just unaware their licence had expired.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s a good idea to double check your licence after you\u2019ve had a birthday, just to make sure you\u2019re not driving unlicensed.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you don\u2019t renew your licence or vehicle registration, you will have no one to blame but yourself if you get caught and fined.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
