South Burnett Rotarians attended a reception at State Parliament last week to mark 100 years of Rotary in Queensland.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0 reception took place on the Speaker\u2019s Green in Brisbane last Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Rotary in Queensland began in 1923 with 16 people, and now has more than 100,000 members across the State.<\/p>\n

Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington said she was proud to celebrate the event with\u00a0Neil Black and Kat Butcher (Kingaroy) and Heath Sander (Murgon).<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Rotary prides itself on being a network of neighbours, friends, community leaders and changemakers who work together to create positive, lasting change in our communities,” Mrs Frecklington said.<\/p>\n

“Rotary projects range from building playgrounds for children to helping the homeless or raising funds for victims of disasters. They aim to improve the lives of others within our own community and around the world.<\/p>\n

“I would like to thank Rotarians from around the Nanango Electorate for their significant ongoing contribution and service to our community.<\/p>\n

“There is no doubt the voluntary work our local Rotary undertakes assists so many important and worthwhile causes across our region, and has benefitted, and will continue to benefit, a great many people.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
