The traditional mid-season Football South Burnett President’s Cup games – which pit the ladder leaders against each other – were played on Friday night in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

The Cup matches were played in chilly conditions under lights at Tom Alford Oval before a small crowd.<\/p>\n

Hosts Kingaroy Senior Soccer had three teams in the running for glory, and brought home the two trophies.<\/p>\n

In the men’s competition, Kingaroy Islanders downed Kingaroy Easts 3-1 in the local derby.<\/p>\n

The women’s cup was a closer contest, with a keenly fought game between Kingaroy Wests and the Nanango Panthers.<\/p>\n

Wests eventually came out on top, 2-1.<\/p>\n

The South Burnett junior soccer competition moved into its next phase at the weekend, with the Barambah Bears hosting the round of games at their Wondai ground.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Games from U6s through to Cadets were played across seven fields.<\/p>\n
