A donation by Kingaroy solar farm constructor Mytilineos has “lifted the spirits” of the members of the Kingaroy Men’s Shed.<\/p>\n

Spokesman Ralph Clark said Robert Gardiner, from Mytilineos, had approached the Men’s Shed to offer some help after reading about their April break-in during which thousands of dollars worth of tools were stolen.<\/p>\n

Mytilineos had already donated some wood to the men, but after the break-in they offered to replace some of the items stolen.<\/p>\n

They recently presented the members with a new bench drill press and several Makita kits.<\/p>\n

“It was just awesome for them to do it,” Ralph said,<\/strong><\/p>\n

“To have the tools and be able to start using them and start building things again, really lifted the spirits of the men.”<\/p>\n

Ralph said Bunnings Kingaroy had also provided assistance and donated some items.<\/p>\n

A Mytilineos spokesperson said the company aimed to return value to local communities in which it operates and helping Kingaroy Men\u2019s Shed was a first priority.<\/p>\n

“The Kingaroy Men\u2019s Shed provides a much-needed social platform for local men to meet and converse,” the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

Footnote: The Men’s Shed will be holding a giant Garage & Car Boot Sale outside their shed in Geoff Raph Drive at Kingaroy Airport from 8:00am to around noon on Saturday morning as a fundraiser to help replace more of the tools and equipment stolen in April.
