South Burnett Saints’ Kiara Wright has been selected in the 2023 South Queensland women’s AFL squad.<\/p>\n

AFL Queensland announced on Tuesday the men\u2019s and women\u2019s squads for the intrastate clash with North Queensland in Cairns next month.<\/p>\n

A total of 61 men and 53 women have been named in the squads, hailing from the Darling Downs, Hervey Bay, south-east Queensland and northern NSW.<\/p>\n

Final teams of 22 players will be announced closer to the match.<\/p>\n

Female Head Coach Jaimie Stanton said the women’s squad had a good mix of experienced and emerging talent.<\/p>\n

Training for both squads will kick off on May 31 and will continue weekly up until the Cairns clash.<\/p>\n

Last weekend, the three Saints\u2019 teams travelled to Toowoomba to take on Toowoomba Tigers\u2019 sides at Rockville Park.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Goals were kicked by Nathan Trace (2) and Jack Mines in the men’s game, and Ezra Salmon in the U14s Mixed side.<\/p>\n
