Blackbutt Show came back with a bang on Saturday after a four-year break caused by wet weather and the pandemic.<\/p>\n

Show Society president Trevor Holt, who has only been in the job since late last year, said the last full show which had been held in Blackbutt was in 2019.<\/p>\n

Everything looked set for last year, until wet weather washed it out at the very last minute.<\/p>\n

A mini-show was held later in the year, but it wasn’t the same …<\/p>\n

Trevor admitted it had been “a steep learning curve” for him ahead of this year’s event but he paid tribute to the volunteers who had made the 2023 show possible, including the Blackbutt Lions and Rural Fire Brigade members who manned the gates.<\/p>\n

New for this year’s show was the Aussie FMX freestyle motocross displays which were held on Saturday afternoon and evening.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Trevor said these were well-received by the crowd.<\/p>\n

Woodchopping at the Blackbutt Show is always special and this year was no different, with Queensland, Australian and world champions demonstrating their skills in the arena.<\/p>\n

The pavilion competitions had also been well-supported.<\/p>\n

“The children’s displays were fantastic,” Trevor said.<\/p>\n

He believed the show had been very successful … “and we had good weather!”<\/p>\n
