Detectives from the State Drug Squad say they have seized about $23.1 million of cannabis from a property at Coominya.<\/p>\n

The raid occurred last Monday (May 15).<\/p>\n

A police spokesperson said Operation Victor Alon was set up to investigate an alleged national drug syndicate facilitating the commercial production and distribution of cannabis across Queensland, Victoria, NSW \u00a0and the Northern Territory.<\/p>\n

Police claim the group has been buying isolated farms in rural Queensland to grow cannabis on a large scale in order to distribute and sell across Australia.<\/p>\n

On Monday, police executed a search warrant at a property in Coominya.<\/p>\n

They say they found 19 greenhouses – each 70m long – allegedly containing 2976 cannabis plants.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A further 1593 cannabis seedlings were allegedly located in two hydroponic growth rooms, and\u00a032.75kg of dried cannabis.<\/p>\n

A police spokesperson said it was estimated the combined street value of the drugs located was about $23.1 million.<\/p>\n

No one was located on the property at the time of the search warrant.<\/p>\n

On Thursday (May 18),\u00a0 detectives conducted a search of a property at Heathwood where they arrested a 26-year-old man.<\/p>\n

He has been charged with one count of producing a commercial quantity of cannabis and is expected to appear at Richlands Magistrates Court on June 6.<\/p>\n

Investigations are continuing.<\/p>\n
