Firefighters called for extra resources on Monday afternoon to help fight a large fire burning east of the Tarong Power Station.<\/p>\n

At 1:26pm, QFES issued a “Stay Informed” alert, with the warning area listed as between Nanango-Tarong Road and the D’Aguilar Highway at South Nanango.<\/p>\n

At 1:45pm, a spokesperson said no properties were currently under threat however the fire was burning across an area of about 60 acres, including in inaccessible country.<\/p>\n

Seven fire crews were on site, with more requested.<\/p>\n

A grader had been brought in from the South Burnett Regional Council and aerial fire-fighting support had been authorised.<\/p>\n

The QFES\u00a0spokesperson said crews were called to the incident, near Reeve Road, at 12:40pm.<\/p>\n

The fire was burning in a north-easterly direction towards McGillivray Road and was being driven by northerly winds.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
