The number of stolen vehicles located in the South Burnett has actually fallen over the past five years, despite much-publicised incidents this year.<\/p>\n

In answer to a Question on Notice from local MP Deb Frecklington, Police Minister Mark Ryan provided figures for the number of stolen vehicles recovered by police in the South Burnett Patrol Group area:<\/p>\n

  • 2018 – 118<\/li>\n
  • 2019 – 106<\/li>\n
  • 2020 – 74<\/li>\n
  • 2021 – 82<\/li>\n
  • 2022 – 89<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The South Burnett Patrol Group area includes the South Burnett and Cherbourg council areas.<\/p>\n

    The data includes cars, buses, motorcycles, trucks, vans and farm equipment and where they were located …\u00a0 either found, abandoned or burnt out.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    It does not reflect where they were stolen.<\/p>\n

    “Please note that this data is preliminary and subject to change,” Minister Ryan said.<\/p>\n

    “The number of vehicles is a unique count of vehicles and therefore numbers may be higher than the number of unlawful use of motor vehicle offences, as offences may contain multiple motor vehicles.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
