Members of the 2023 South Burnett Youth Council held their first official training session at the weekend, guided by facilitators from the Youth Leadership Academy Australia (YLAA).<\/p>\n

The group gathered at the Griffith University training centre in the grounds of Kingaroy Hospital for two days of activities.<\/p>\n

They were accompanied by Cr Danita Potter and South Burnett Regional Council community development co-ordinator Margie Hams.<\/p>\n

The activities were led by Wil Massara and Christie King from YLAA.<\/p>\n

Christie told southburnett.com.au<\/strong>\u00a0 the workshops were designed to enhance leadership and communication skills to support the Youth Council members to set goals for 2023 to make postive community change.<\/p>\n

YLAA describes itself as a “for-youth, by-youth” organisation which aims to equip the youth of today with the skills to be leaders tomorrow.<\/p>\n
