The hard-working volunteers from the Wondai Garden Expo committee could relax on Monday after a massive weekend.<\/p>\n

The annual Wondai Autumn Garden Expo was huge, both in the number of stalls and in the number of visitors at Wondai Sportsground.<\/p>\n

One volunteer told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> that about 600 people had come through the main gate by just 10:00am on Saturday, and that figure did not include the buses!<\/p>\n

Stalls stretched from in front of the grandstand to almost right around the oval.<\/p>\n

The guest speaker on Saturday was Brisbane-based horticulturalist Claire Bickle who kept the crowd enthralled in the undercover stage area with several talks touching on everything from organic gardening to the importance of compost.<\/p>\n

The Wondai Garden Expo committee organises two events every year.<\/p>\n

Their next venture will be the Wondai Spring Garden Expo on September 23-24.<\/p>\n

Visitors did not have to worry about carrying their purchases very far … these volunteers were doing loops of the grounds to take plants back to a storage area near the gate<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Romaine Undery with a kokedama for sale … Romaine and her husband Peter had some good news about their Ramesa Nursery which has been a favourite stall at local markets since 2014; since Easter, the business is now open to the public at 163 Findowie Road, Gordonbrook, 9:00am to 5:00pm from Friday to Monday<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
