Firefighters had to use a ladder to reach a seriously injured motorcycle rider down a 20 metre embankment at Cinnabar on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n

The man, aged in his 70s, was trapped by his leg under his crashed motorbike and sidecar.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to the incident on the Kilkivan-Tansey Road at 10:11am.<\/p>\n

Two off-duty firefighters, who were first on the scene, were later joined by five QFES units in the delicate operation to free the injured rider.<\/p>\n

While QAS paramedics assisted, the man was placed into a basket and taken to a waiting LifeFlight Rescue Helicopter, which had landed nearby.<\/p>\n

A QAS spokesperson said the man suffered leg injuries and broken bones and was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious condition.<\/p>\n

QAS paramedics transported two patients in a stable condition to Dalby Hospital after a single-vehicle rollover on the Bunya Highway in the early hours of Tuesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n
