Fortunately the rain – which bedevilled Murgon’s Christmas Fair for so many years – held off for the town’s Easter celebration on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n

The Easter SpEGGtacular is the Murgon Business and Development Association’s replacement for the oft-cancelled Christmas festivities in Lamb Street.<\/p>\n

It was introduced in 2019 as a replacement for the 25-year-old Christmas Fair.\u00a0Between 2015 and 2018, the Christmas carnival had to be either cut short or cancelled due to bad weather.<\/p>\n

However, the SpEGGtacular has also had its share of bad luck, being cancelled in recent years due to the pandemic.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But all the fun of the fair was back in Murgon’s main street on Saturday … rides, stalls, lucky dips, raffles and even a visit from the Easter Bunny who posed for pictures in front of his (her?) Easter Egg.<\/p>\n

Amusement rides and jumping castles were positioned down both sides of Lamb Street.<\/p>\n

Live entertainment included a performance by the Wondai Town and District Band.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, the top half of the QEII Park was still closed due to the ongoing upgrades by the South Burnett Regional Council which have included the removal of some trees and the laying of new turf.<\/p>\n
