March 30, 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n

Renewable Energy Systems (RES) – the company behind the development of Stanwell’s Tarong West Wind Farm at Ironpot – has scheduled two more community information sessions for local residents.<\/p>\n

The sessions, at Ironpot and Kumbia in April, are an opportunity for residents to meet the project team.<\/p>\n

Tarong West (formerly known as the Iron Leaf Wind Farm) will consist of 128 wind turbines located across several properties about 8km north-west of Kumbia.<\/p>\n

According to the latest information distributed by RES, the project layout and design has now been finalised.<\/p>\n

RES is now preparing to to lodge planning and environment applications with the State and Federal governments but plans to meet with residents before this happens.<\/p>\n

In September last year, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced the State Government would invest $776 million from its $2 billion Queensland Renewable Energy and Hydrogen Jobs Fund into the project, and once built by RES it would be managed by Stanwell Corporation.<\/p>\n
