Round 1 of the South Burnett Mental Health Golf Challenge will be played this weekend at the Blackbutt Golf Course.<\/p>\n

The seven-round competition is being played monthly at a different South Burnett course every round, culminating in a Grand Final on October 14.<\/p>\n

Funds raised over the next eight months will be distributed to not-for-profit groups supporting mental health in the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

The series is being organised by three of the people – Gavin Jones, Scott Henschen and Simon Neal – who were behind last year’s very successful Cricket 4 Life fundraiser in Kingaroy which raised $27,000 for Relay For Life.<\/p>\n

Gavin said 13 teams had nominated so far for the Three-Person Ambrose this Saturday, however he hoped to have 20 teams by the close of nominations at the Blackbutt Club on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Cost to nominate is $90 per team, which includes lunch and green fees.<\/p>\n

The top three teams from every round will earn a spot in the Grand Final.<\/p>\n

However, one more team will also be drawn randomly every round to also play in the final.<\/p>\n

Other rounds will be played at:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Proston – April 27<\/li>\n
  • Kumbia – May 27<\/li>\n
  • Wondai – June 17<\/li>\n
  • Kingaroy – July 8<\/li>\n
  • Nanango – August 19<\/li>\n
  • Murgon – September 30<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The Grand Final will be played at the Kingaroy Golf Course on October 14.<\/p>\n
