March 22, 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 99th Murgon Show blew away visitors on Saturday, with the biggest turnout the annual show has attracted for years.<\/p>\n

There was everything from cane toad racing on Friday night to dog jumping on Saturday!<\/p>\n

Add in cow milking, butter churning, dodgems, a dog show, poultry and lots of lots of cattle and there was something for everyone.<\/p>\n

The cattle sections attracted 121 entries, 85 in the Stud section and 36 led steers.<\/p>\n

Mikaela Ross, from MBR Brahmans, Kingaroy, took out the Supreme Exhibit of the Show with “MBR Platinum Ruby”.<\/p>\n

Horse events were on the back oval, including miniature ponies.<\/p>\n

Special guests were members of the Australian Army’s Pep Band who played musical spots around the showgrounds.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Graham House staff and volunteers put on a GH Clothing Co fashion parade featuring items which can be bought from their shop in Lamb Street.<\/p>\n

The PCYC Pavilion featured stalls from local organisations as well as a large display of works by students from local schools.<\/p>\n

Even the residents of the Castra residential aged care centre played a part, taking out the Fay Collard Memorial Trophy in the Pavilion’s Horticulture section for Most Points in Roses,<\/p>\n

Saturday night featured motorbike challenges – from pee wees through to seniors – and was topped off with a fireworks display.<\/p>\n

Murgon Show Society volunteers have been working hard for weeks to get the upgraded grounds ready for the show, but they can’t take any time off now.<\/p>\n

The Murgon Daytime Rodeo will be held at the Murgon Showgrounds on Sunday, April 2.<\/strong><\/p>\n
