{"id":330161,"date":"2023-03-21T15:42:05","date_gmt":"2023-03-21T05:42:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=330161"},"modified":"2023-03-21T15:42:05","modified_gmt":"2023-03-21T05:42:05","slug":"owners-urged-to-check-valuations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2023\/03\/21\/owners-urged-to-check-valuations\/","title":{"rendered":"Owners Urged To Check Valuations"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_152966\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-152966\" style=\"width: 200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/deb-frecklington.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-152966\" src=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/deb-frecklington.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"315\" srcset=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/deb-frecklington.jpg 200w, https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/deb-frecklington-190x300.jpg 190w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-152966\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>March 21, 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Land owners in the Gympie and Western Downs council areas have until May 16 to lodge any objection to their new land valuations.<\/p>\n<p>The GRC and WDRC council areas are two of the 24 local government areas across Queensland which are part of this year&#8217;s Department of Resources&#8217; land valuation program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington drew attention to some of the GRC&#8217;s township valuation increases:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kilkivan &#8211; 60.7 per cent<\/li>\n<li>Goomeri &#8211; 29.1 per cent<\/li>\n<li>Tansey &#8211; 45.4 per cent<\/li>\n<li>Woolooga &#8211; 10.3 per cent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThe Gympie region has seen 49.1 per cent valuation increase in Primary Production land in the latest review and a 42.5 per cent increase for Rural Residential land,&#8221; Mrs Frecklington said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI urge landowners to carefully review their valuation notice when it arrives in the mail and consider if they should lodge an objection against their new valuation by the closing date.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe new valuations should reflect the property market on October 1, 2022, the date of the valuation undertaken by the Department of Resources.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cLand valuations are the basis for rating, land tax and State land rental purposes and the new valuations will take effect from June 30<span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">, <\/span>2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you believe your land valuation may be incorrect, I would encourage landholders to lodge an objection.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am aware of some landholders who have saved on their local government rate bills by successfully objecting to an incorrect valuation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cObjections must be lodged within 60 days from the date of issue and no later than May 16, 2023, with forms found <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.qld.gov.au\/environment\/land\/title\/valuation\/annual\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online<\/a><\/strong> or by calling 1300-664-217.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Footnote: New valuations for the South Burnett, North Burnett, Somerset and Toowoomba councils were issued in 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Land owners in the Gympie and Western Downs council areas have until May 16 to lodge any objection to their new land valuations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":20,"featured_media":152967,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[3,36],"tags":[1134],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.11 -
