Tingoora artist Robyn Dower has designed the mural panels which will be filled in by residents on Saturday<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Residents have been invited to help paint six mural panels on Saturday in Kingaroy as part of the South Burnett Regional Council’s Harmony Week celebrations.<\/p>\n

The six 1.5m x 1.2m canvas panels feature designs by Tingoora artist Robyn Dower.<\/p>\n

The would-be artists will be invited to fill-in the designs using paint and paint brushes supplied by Council.<\/p>\n

This is the first time the SBRC has celebrated Harmony Week.<\/p>\n

Activities will kick off at 10:00am on Saturday (March 25) in the Kingaroy Town Hall Forecourt and will run until 2:00pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As well as the painting project, there will be live entertainment by the Wakka Wakka dancers and performances from members of the Solomon, Kiribati, Fijian and Samoan communities.<\/p>\n

The musicians from Rockin\u2019 Our Abilities and the South Burnett Orchestra will also be performing.<\/p>\n

Cr Danita Potter said the event would showcase the spirit of inclusiveness in the region.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to celebrate Harmony Day and show a sense of belonging for everyone,\u201d Cr Potter said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur event is to remind the community why our cultural diversity is one of South Burnett\u2019s greatest assets and we are stronger because of it.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want everyone, no matter who they are or where they\u2019re from, to come along and have fun and appreciate that our differences make our community a great place to live.\u201d<\/p>\n

The activities are being funded through the Federal Government\u2019s Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants Program.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
