The threat of heavy rain may have forced a last-minute change of plans, but it didn’t stop the fun at the annual Dinner Under The Stars on Saturday night!<\/p>\n

The Kingaroy Men’s Shed, which hosts the event, made the call early on Friday to change the venue after storms were predicted.<\/p>\n

So instead of the 274 diners enjoying their camp oven meal “under the stars” beside the Men’s Shed, everyone gathered in the safety of the Kingaroy & District Vintage Machinery Club’s shed just up the road.<\/p>\n

The event is an important fundraiser for the LifeFlight Foundation, the charity behind the lifesaving rescue helicopters that fly in and out of the South Burnett almost every day.<\/p>\n

LifeFlight volunteers Susan Robertson and Cr Danita Potter were kept busy on the night, ensuring everything ran smoothly.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kingaroy State High School students were also kept on their toes, working hard to serve up the meals.<\/p>\n

The stage was shifted to the new venue, with Amos & The Ground Crew and Dealin\u2019 providing live music all night.<\/p>\n

There was also a special extra for the kids, with volunteers from Bunnings Kingaroy providing free face-painting and activities.<\/p>\n

Dennis Cotter also worked his magic on bidders during the charity auction.<\/p>\n

Guest speaker Letisha Goodrich spoke about her family’s gratitude to LifeFlight after her two-year-old daughter Charli was airlifted in 2021 to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital and then to ICU in the Queensland Children’s Hospital in Brisbane after she diagnosed with double pneumonia and sepsis.<\/p>\n

Cr Potter thanked the businesses and individuals who had donated items for the raffle and auction.<\/p>\n
