A special get-together was held at Lives Lived Well’s premises in Kingaroy recently to update local organisations about the services offered by the not-for-profit group.<\/p>\n

The morning was attended by representatives from the South Burnett Regional Council as well South Burnett CTC and other support groups.<\/p>\n

Lives Lived Well is a not-for-profit organisation which aims to support people affected by alcohol and drug use or mental health concerns.<\/p>\n

It moved into its new premises at 1\/152 Haly Street late last year.<\/p>\n

Lives Lived Well manager (clinical services) for south-west Queensland, Lindsay McMahon, said the group worked with GPs, allied health professionals and other services to offer an integrated approach.<\/p>\n

“Our unwavering belief is that with the right support, people can change their lives. And we see evidence of this every day as we support people to make changes to live their life well,” Mr McMahon said.<\/p>\n

He said Lives Lived Well was at the \u201ccutting edge\u201d with an evidence-based approach designed in collaboration with the University of Queensland.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Alcohol is the number one concern for people seeking support. Almost half the people entering our live-in recovery services name alcohol as their primary concern, while in our community services, just over 38 per cent seek help for a problem with alcohol,” Mr McMahon said.<\/p>\n

Lives Lived Well has offered drug and alcohol support services in the South Burnett region since 2017.<\/p>\n

The group offers free 1:1 counselling across the South Burnett for people with drug or alcohol concerns.<\/p>\n

The team also provides outreach support across the region, as well as phone and online counselling and referrals to other services.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
